Book for Nov. 16: Corrections In Ink

(Carroll here, writing for Lynda. Blogger is steadfastly refusing to let her post).

The selection is a book by Keri Blakinger, which the publisher calls "an electric and unforgettable memoir about a young woman's journey—from the ice rink, to addiction and a prison sentence, to the newsroom—and how she emerged with a fierce determination to expose the broken system she experienced."

If you go for the audio version of the book, Blakinger reads it. She's not a voice actor, but there is something about hearing her tell her own story that is powerful.

Blakinger recently wrote a story for the New York Times Magazine that is definitely worth reading along with the memoir--Lynda highly recommends doing so:

The Dungeons and Dragons Players of Death Row

You can also listen to an audio version of the story, via the NYT podcast, The Daily.

See you in November!
